I’m Jenney and I help people appreciate their life story by creating custom portraits of their home, the setting for that story.

I’ve always loved drawing and painting and even dreamed of a career as a children’s book illustrator, but I put that dream on the back burner to focus on raising my family. Now that my youngest is old enough to make herself a sandwich, I can once again find time to paint, and the subject I am consistently down to is houses. Why houses?

My own house isn’t beautiful or fancy, but it is the place where I give the most of myself. It’s where we’re raising our kids, welcoming our friends, and forging genuine connections with people who become friends and family. It has served as the location for countless holidays, birthdays, graduations, showers, spontaneous game nights, and an annual showing of Groundhog Day. It’s the place that has housed the people I love most in the world, and at some point, I stopped thinking of it as just a building and started delighting in it as the backdrop of a rich and meaningful life.

Painting house portraits is a way of bringing it all together: artwork that illustrates the place where our lives happen on the most intimate level, the Where for our Why.
